The Intrinsix Sigma-Delta Modulators for Radio Frequency Applications (SD-M-RF) are part of the larger offering of Sigma-Delta IP available from Intrinsix.
Intrinsix SD-M-RF allows you to add "RF on CMOS" in a highly integrated fashion resulting in a significantly lower cost in materials for your product. By incorporating SD-M-RF in your custom Baseband IC you eliminate the need for a separate off-the-shelf RF chip as well as other OTS devices, such as SAW filters, as a result of the benefits derived from a SD-M-RF architecture.
The family of SD-M-RF is generated utilizing proprietary, patent-pending techniques within the Intrinsix SDM Refinery toolset, which automates the design process. An Intrinsix engineer specifies an Over-Sampling Ratio (OSR), quantization levels, order of complexity and IF frequency and SDM Refinery creates the desired modulator. The Intrinsix SDM Refinery also helps develop high efficiency, high order polyphase half-band digital channel filters to ease some of the system level performance requirements. More information on the SDM Refinery(TM) can be found at SDM Refinery
